WANDERLUST : A TRAVELOGUE WITH JAMDANI, KHADI & MUSLIN
Once upon a time in the West, Indian fabrics were prized, both as commodities and couture. Fortunes were traded, ships launched, noble ladies and their tailors waited impatiently - all for Indian chintz and muslin. Today, these fabrics are displayed in prestigious museums across the world.
While we appreciate all this attention on vintage Indian textiles, we are a tad upset that they sit behind panes of glass, immortalized but immobile. We have heard the staccato beat of the looms that still make these fabrics. We have felt the breath of air from the hands that spin the yarns.
So, we tapped into our wanderlust and decided to give these amazing fabrics a place of their own on the global runway. We’ve designed dresses, tunics, tops and pants that you could wear on just about any continent on the globe.
